By killing enemies Rayne's rage meter will fill, eventually allowing her to enter Blood Rage, slowing the world around her and gaining new combo attacks that can dismember or totally cut in half weaker opponents. Set in a fictitious Chicago-style city during the 1920s prohibition era, you play a mob boss whose goal is to build an empire that controls the rival gangs and sends your enemies home in pine overcoats. Another vampiric strength is her ability to drain the blood out of any human she can grab in order to restore her health. Her enhanced vampiric strength even allows her to rip up mounted gun emplacements and fire them from the hip. Rayne can also hold many weapons, such as pistols, shotguns, and submachine guns, at once, but she is not overly attached to them and will discard any weapon that runs dry. Rayne's primary weapons against both monsters and men are the blades attached to her arms, and as the game progresses she will gain additional attacks to string together. Her mission will take her from clearing out the walking dead and man-sized insects in the swamps of Louisiana to hunting down members of the secretive Gegengheist Gruppe branch of the Nazi military around the world, as well as the monsters they unwittingly awakened. ![]() It is these things that the Brimstone Society hunts, and their newest agent for the cause is the half-vampire codenamed BloodRayne. The heads-up display includes, alongside information about the race, a detailed map, but this display can be turned off.ĭescriptionThere are things in the world that humanity should not know about, and things it must be protected from. Environmental conditions that traverse all modes include weather (sunny, rainy, cloudy, and snowy), time of day (sunrise, afternoon, sunset, and night-time), and the density of pedestrians, traffic, and police vehicles. All of these modes except Cruise are divided into missions completing one unlocks the next. In the Cruise mode, the player can simply explore the city at their own pace. The Checkpoint mode combines the features of Blitz and Circuit has the player race against other cars to a destination-but also adds the complication of other traffic, such as police cars and pedestrians. The Circuit mode curtains off most of the city to resemble race tracks and pits the player against other cars. In Blitz, the player must swing through three checkpoints and drive to the finish line within a time limit. Midtown Madness features four single-player modes: Blitz, Circuit, Checkpoint, and Cruise. ![]()
